Gilda's Club on Fox 6 Wake Up News, January 28 and on "The Morning Blend," January 30, 2008 President & CEO Maureen Squire and Program Director Susan Mingesz previewed on both shows information on Gilda's Club "Food, Nutrition, Physical Activity and the Prevention of Cancer: A Global Perspective" panel discussion held the evening of January 30th. The panel discussed a recent study published by the World Cancer Research Fund and the American Institute for Research. The study engages over 100 scientists from 30 countries to produce "the most authoritative and comprehensive report published on diet and cancer."
Gilda's Club on "The Morning Blend," July 24, 2007 As a preview of the Psychosocial Oncology Panel Discussion held on Wednesday, July 25, 7:00-9:00 pm and open to the public, Program Director Susan Mingesz and Gilda's Club member Kurt Jacobsohn appeared on "The Morning Blend." Experts in the field of oncology will review and discuss two recently completed reports commissioned by Gilda's Club Worldwide. The first report, written by Helen-Maria Lekas, PhD, Columbia University, Mailman School of Public Health looks at six major trends in the field of psychosocial oncology: the cancer survivorship movement, end-of-life issues, genetic testing, internet support, complementary and alternative treatment and the relationship between emotions and cancer. The second report by Karolynn Siegel, PhD also from Columbia University reviews the effectiveness of psychosocial interventions.
Gilda's Club Featured on USA TODAY Cover July 20, 2007 To mark the occasion of its 25th anniversary, USA TODAY is thanking America for all of its support over the past 25 years by saluting the nation's generosity. USA TODAY has selected 25 charities and will celebrate the work of one charity per week for 25 weeks. Accomplishments for Gilda's Club Southeastern Wisconsin:
In the three years since program rollout, we have reached 15,600 individuals.
Through our Community Outreach Program, we have reached 14,000 individuals.
In 2006, over 6,900 individuals were reached through community outreach efforts, a 110% increase over the previous year.
We continue to have requests throughout the community for more programming.

It All Started With a Spot: Zink the Zebra. The Zink the Zebra curriculum, recipient of national awards offers materials developed over ten years by 50 educators/psychologists for children pre-school-12th grade. Tool kits (lesson plans, videos, children's book, worksheets, resources, evaluations and activities) are perfect for outreach in schools, hospitals, and community organizations. Public relations and marketing opportunities introductin Gilda's Club to children, teens and families include:
• Photo/television opportunities • Leave-behind toy/books • Zink the Zebra in costume • Health fairs/community events
Gilda's Club on "The Morning Blend" on June 18 Susan Mingesz, Program Director, and Gilda's Club member Judy Novak appeared on "The Morning Blend" television show on June 18, 2007. They shared information on the latest advances in chemotherapy as well as what to expect from chemotherapy and why it may cause nausea. They also discussed how to be an advocate for cancer survivors as they undergo chemotherapy and other treatments.

Gilda's Club on WITI-TV - Fox 6 Thursday, April 26, from 6-9 a.m. GusGnorksi interviewed Marie Baumeister, cancer survivor, and her friend Suzie Alberti as they prepared for the Gilda's Club Fashion Show. He also interviewed Susan Mingesz and Maureen Squire at Gilda's Club
Also, on Wednesday, April 25, WTMJ's Molly Fay of "The Morning Blend" interviewed Gilda's Club cancer survivor, Lauren Rosenberg, and her mother, Marina. Lauren's best friend and support person, Cecilia Miller, was also there.
